Portable Applications
Portable Application Features:
- Run Anywere Without "Setup"
A portable program can run anywhere without having to run "Setup" to install it.
This means it can be put on removable media such as USB disks or CDs,
and run on different computers.
- Run Anywere Without License Problems
If a portable program is not freeware, and the original copy is licensed,
it must not complain "license missing" when run on removable media on different computers.
- Use relative path names.
For example, a USB disk can be E: on one computer, and G: on another.
When moved from one computer to another,
portable programs must not "get confused".
- light-weight
Portable applications are usually small in size,
they can even be run on a floppy disk.
- Easy to use:
Users don't have to read lengthy help document to know how to use it.
Everything must be "obvious".
