PE Scanner - A Tool for Removing Viruses Manually

Introduction

Do you use anti-virus applicatons or prefer to remove viruses by hand?

I started using computers from 1985. My first impression of a computer virus was called "stone". It was a DOS virus infecting the boot sector of floppy disks, displaying "You PC is stoned!" on booting. I removed it with "DEBUG.com". Since then I have never used any anti-virus applicatons. When infected, I remove it by hand and I have not lost once - formating hard disk and re-installing OS.

Today, a virus may pretend to be an image file while actually it is a PE (portable executable).
