On the Website Property dialog box, select a IP address and enter the port number for your server. Details.
Your web server is started now. The URL of your web site is displayed on the main window of MyWeb. See illustration. People visiting your site by this URL will see a page like this. As you see, it is a empty web site.
Please notice that the Start button on the main window of MyWeb is in pushed-down state when your web server is working. If you click the Close button when your server is working, MyWeb will hide the main window and work in the background.
To remove files published in the Dynamic Files folder, select the files on the right pane, right click the selected files, and select the Remove Files command on the popup menu. This just remove the file names from the publish list, and will not remove the actual files.
A Real Time File (RTF) is a file that grows in size as time goes on, such as an audio recording file or a video recording file. When a visitor clicks the link to a RTF, MyWeb always starts sending the file from the ending point.
When you want to stop the Real Time File, on the right view of MyWeb, right click the file, and select "Real Time File" from the menu. The red "R" will becomes grey.
To remove published folders, select the folders on the left pane, right click the selected folders, and select the Remove Folders command on the popup menu. This just remove the folder names from the publish list, and will not remove the actual folders.
When you publish a folder, one of the folder property is "Allow Zip Folder". If you enable this option, visitors can see "Download" link when they open the related page. See illustration. If they click the link, MyWeb will compress the folder into a zip file and send it to the visitor.
By default, MyWeb generates a dynamic home page based on the files and folders being published. You can modify the title of this dynamic home page and add some description text to it. Also, you can set a HTML file on your PC as your home page. To configue your home page, click the [Server Property] button on the main window of MyWeb, then click the [Home Page] button on the "Website Property" dialogue box.
If you use a local HTML file as your home page,
and in this file there are links refering to other folders or files,
the refered folders or files must be published first,
and the refering URL must use the published name, not the local name.
For example, if you have published the folder "D:\Best Pictures\2003" as "Pictures(2003)",
and in the home page HTML file you want to refer to a file named "sunset.jpg" in the folder,
the url should be:
"/Pictures(2003)/sunset.jpg", not "D:\Best Pictures\2003\sunset.jpg".
After your server is started, right click the WebChat icon and select Start Webchat... command. See illustration. After Web Chat started, open a chat room page for yourself: Select the WebChat icon, The URL to the chat room is displayed on the address box. Then click the Open button. See illustration.
