Before a network application can connect to another computer, for example, a web browser connects to a web site to open a page, the operating system must first find the IP address of that computer. This is done by querying the DNS server. If the DNS server does not reply fast enough, you feel that the application is slow. DNS servers are usually local. With Microsoft Windows, you can choose between obtaining DNS server address automatically and specifying manually.
When DNS Speed Test start, it fill the "DNS IPs" list with the the DNS server addresses the system is currently using. Screenshot.
