FSet - Get Started
Before you read this page,
you need to know the basic concepts about F-Set, Action, Archive Filter.
In the example below,
we copy some documents files from the "My Documents" folder to the "G:\Backp" folder.
The files to be copied are Adobe Acrobat Document files (*.pdf),
and Microsoft Word Document files (*.doc).
Temporary F-Set
Temporary F-Set is used for once-only file operations.
The following steps show how to copy files use a temporary F-Set.
- Double click the Copy Action icon.
This brings out the F-Set Copy
dialog box.
- Click the [Create] button of the
F-Set Copy dialog box. This brings out the
F-Set Property dialog box.
- Click the [Add Folders...] button of the
F-Set Property dialog box. This brings out the
Add Folders dialog box.
- On the Add Folders dialog box, select the
My Documents folder, type *.doc;*.pdf,
check the [Include Listed Files Only] radio button.

- Click the [OK] button and return to the
F-Set Property dialog box.
Now a new line appears on the
Files & Folders list.
- Close the [OK] button and return to the
F-Set Copy dialog box.
- On the F-Set Copy dialog box, click the
[...] button to specify the destination folder,
then click the [Start] button to start copying files.

Create A Named F-Set
If we know we need to repeat the above copying again in the future,
we create a named F-Set. A named F-Set is saved and can be used again.
- Click the [New]
button of the F-Set List group. This brings out the
F-Set Property dialog box.
- Follow the step 3, 4, 5 decribed in the above example.
- Enter the name of the F-Set,
and click OK to close the
F-Set Property dialog box.
- The F-Set DOC and PDF appears in the
list.
Bind Named F-Set to Action
Once a named F-Set is created, you can bind it to Copy, Move, Delete or Zip.
When you need to repeat the operation, just double click the icon on the right list view.

- Click the [New]
button of the Action group. A menu pops out.
Select the Bind Copy command of the popup menu.
This brings out the Bind F-Set Copy dialog box.
- On the Bind F-Set Copy dialog box,
select the F-Set DOC and PDF created in example 2,
specify the destination folder. See illustration.
- Click the [OK] button and close the
Bind F-Set Copy dialog box. A new icon appears in the
Action List.
When we need to copy the files again,
we just double click this icon.
