FSet - Concepts

F-Set

F-Set is a file & folder collector with filters. You can put any number of files and folders into F-Set. Each folder in a F-Set can have a File Name Filer and a File Time Filter. The File Name Filter can be inclusive or exclusive. The two filters help to pick out any files from folders. Illustration: F-Set Property.

There are two different types of F-Set. They are named F-Set and temporary F-Set. Named F-Sets are listed on the left pane of the main window. They are saved and can be reused. Temporary F-Sets are used in one-time-only Operations.

Action

Actions are listed on the right pane of the main window. There are eight pre-defined actions: Delete, Copy, Move, Zip, UnZip, Split File, Combine File, Make Autorun Zip. By associating F-Set with an Action, a Binded Action is created. Binded Actions are also listed on the right pane of the main window. Their icons have a red arrow at the bottom-left corner. Binded Actions are saved for reuse. When you want to carry out a Binded Action, just double click the icon.

ARCHIVE Filter

ARCHIVE is one of the many attributes of a Windows file or folder. When a file is modified and saved, the Windows System will set ARCHIVE to ON state. The ARCHIVE attribute is mostly used by backup programs. When this attribute is ON, the backup program will copy the file and set it to OFF; otherwise, the file is skipped.

With FSet, if the "Use ARCHIVE Filter" option is selected, the ARCHIVE attribute will be used in a simliar way while copying, moving, or zipping.
