GIF Basic

GIF is the most popular image type on the Internet. It is small in size, because it uses 256 colors. Some GIF images are single-pictured, while some others are multi-pictured (multi-framed). We call a multi-pictured GIF an animated GIF. A animated GIF has a serial of frames (pictures). Each frame has a time slice. The time slice is measured in 1/100 second. When a program such as Internet Explorer opens a GIF image, it displays one frame after anohter.

Play GIF Frames Manually

If the GIF image is multi-framed, you can use the right-button menu to set the playing mode to "Manual" and:

• Up : Display the first frame.
• Down : Display the last frame.
• Left : Display the previous frame.
• Right : Display the next frame.
