OChart
OChart is an image editor for drawing tree-structured graphics, such as organization charts, family trees, site maps. For a first quick impression of OChart, have a look at the the pictures list below:

Tree Nodes
The picture on the right is a OChart tree of 7 nodes. B is the Focus Node. The Focus Node is the subject of edit actions: adding a child node, adding texts, adding pictures. When a new OChart document is created, the root node is automatically created. The root node can not be deleted.
Node Size
Node size may be the first you want to change when a new OChart document is created. To do this:
- Click the [Properties] button on the tool bar. This displays the [Document Properties] dialogue box.
- On the [Document Properties] dialogue box, change the [Width] and [Height] value of the [Node Image Size] group.
- Click the [Create] button to preview the newly created node image
- Click [OK] and go back to the main window. The document is updated with the new node size.
Other Attributes of Node
As you see from the [Document Properties] dialogue box, You can also change the shape, border color, filling color of the node image as well as width and color of the connection lines, spaces between nodes.
You can also use an external picture as the node image. To to this, either click the [Paste] button if your picture is already copied to the clipboard, or the [Open] button to load the picture from a file.
Texts on Node
You can add as many text blocks to a node as needed. Each text block can have a different font, size and color.
- Add: To add a new text block to a node, first select that node so that it becomes the Focus Node, then click the [Add/Edit] button on the tool bar.
- Edit: To edit an existing text block, select that text block so that it is enclosed by a red-box, click the [Add/Edit] button on the tool bar. You can also double click a text block to start the editing.
- Position and Size: To re-size or re-position a text block, select that text block so that it is enclosed by a red-box, Drag one of the four sides of the red box to re-size the text block or drag its center to re-position the block.
- Delete: To delete a text block, select that text block so that it is enclosed by a red-box, then click the [Delete] button on the tool bar on simply press the [Delete] key on the keyboard.
Pictures on Node
You can add as many pictures to a node as needed.
- Add: To add a picture to a node, first select that node so that it becomes the Focus Node, then click the [Add Picture] button on the tool bar.

Use the Tree Picture
Eventually you will use the tree picture out of OChart. To to this, you can save the tree picture to a file or copy it to the clipboard by clicking the [Export] button on the tool bar and then select a command from the drop-down menu.

- Drag & Drop to Move: You can move a text block or a picture from one node to another by draging it from the source node to the destination node.
- Drag & Drop to Copy: You can copy a text block or a picture from one node to another by holding down the [Ctrl] key and draging it from the source node to the destination node.
